Ugly Betty is one of the most excellent TV series I have watched. Though it is not really an original series because is an adaptation of the Colombian TV series called Betty La Fea. But this American version had already won various Emmy awards including the "Best Actress in a Comedy Series" for America Ferrera, who acts the lead role of Betty Suarez. The show stars America Ferrera, Vanessa Williams, Eric Mabius, Rebecca Romijn and many more. The TV show is co-produce by Salma Hayek who also appeared in a cameo role in the series.
The story is about an ugly woman having a job as a secretary of a fashion magazine's editor in chief. She had encountered a lot of problem within her job because of her physical apperance but she manage to keep it all light. Betty Suarez became her boss best adviser. She has also continued problems in her home.
These American version was criticized by the people in Colombia saying that it is a pale adaptation of the first telenovela. However, the TV show had encountered a lot of success and will still continue despite of these differences.
The first season of Ugly Betty started September 28, 2006 and finished in September of 2007. The second season had started right after the first and will end expectedly on May of 2008.
