Hollywood Parties For Barack Obama

Democrat presidential candidate, Barack Obama really knows how to roll the dice in his side. Last Tuesday he held two star-studded events in his honor in Beverly Hills.

The first event was a $28,500-per-plate dinner at the landmark Greystone Mansion attended by some bold-faced names, including Tobey McGuire, Leonardo DiCapro Jodie Foster and Chris Rock.

The second, a $2,500-per-ticket fund-raiser at the glamorous Regent Beverly Wilshire included performances by Ben Harper and Barbara Streisand.

After three songs, Streisand introduced the man of the hour, who came onstage to roaring applause and outbursts of "yes we can" and "sí se puede." Obama revved up the crowd, but kept a serious, even somber, tone during his speech, which touched on the current economic crisis, recent hurricanes to hit the Gulf Coast, and a fatal train crash in Los Angeles.

Among the crowd was Sarah Silverman and Ron Howard, who enjoyed the desserts and an open bar in between cracking jokes about the GOP's Sarah Palin and John McCain. Laura Dern watched her husband (Ben Harper) perform, but stood atop her chair when Obama made his entrance.

Together, the events raised an estimated $9 million for the Democratic presidential nominee.

Megan Fox Graces The Cover Of GQ Magazine October Issue

Megan Fox is heating up men's magazine GQ's October issue, posing in her bikini for its cover. The actress, who in April 2008 has been crowned as FHM's No. 1 Sexiest Woman in the World, shows off her curvy figure for the magazine's cover in black bikini, exposing part of her breasts.

That's the tongue-across-the-teeth, barely-there-bikini picture gracing the October issue of GQ, in which Fox, 22, makes no apologies about her movie roles.

"If I get stuck doing comic book films for the rest of my life, I'll be really happy," she tells the magazine. "I love those types of movies. And I don't mind being sexy – if it's a character with a back story and an arc and something progresses."

Of posing for the magazine, Fox says: “I am very excited to be involved with GQ, as it is such a great magazine.”

Fox, meanwhile, is also on the cover of Maxim, but her reps say the magazine proceeded without her cooperation, purchasing older photos that already have run in other magazines.

A Maxim rep says: "Megan Fox is a talented actor and a favorite of our 13 million readers and we're pleased to recognize her accomplishments in the October issue with this beautiful photo portfolio."
