Premiere of Reviving Ophelia at Lifetime Features Domestic Violence

The bestseller novel "Reviving Ophelia" is now onscreen! If you missed the beginning of Lifetime’s new movie “Reviving Ophelia” you’re in luck. The movie will air again several times, ensuring that you can set you DVR’s or VCR’s and share the movie with your teen daughters. The story addresses teen domestic violence and is expected to make a powerful impact with young girls who may find themselves in abusive situations.




The film is based on the New York Times Best Seller “Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls”  by Dr. Mary Pipher. The book features Rebecca Williams in the role of Elizabeth and Carleigh Beverly in the role of Kelli. Elizabeth and Kelli are cousins and Kelli suspects that Elizabeth is in an abusive relationship but no one believes her. Kelli’s mom is Le Ann, played by Kim Dickens and Elizabeth’s mom is Marie, played by Jane Kaczmarek. Le Ann and Marie are sisters. Nick Thurston plays Mark, Elizabeth’s abusive boyfriend.

Reviving Ophelia premiered at 9:00 p.m. on Lifetime October 11, 2010. If you missed the viewing you can catch it again at 12:00 a.m. October 12, 2010, October 16, 2010 at 9:00 p.m., October 17, 2010 at 9:00 p.m., and on October 17, 2010 at 11:00 p.m. on Lifetime.
